Frequently Asked Questions
About the work
How are AWEDICT prints made?
Each piece is rendered at the AWEDICT studio, drawing on the visual language of Pata Chitra and related Indian devotional traditions. We refine the work frame by frame, then print using museum-grade pigment-based inks rated for 100+ years lightfast. Limited Editions are giclée prints on either fine-art paper or unstretched archival cotton canvas, supplied rolled, unframed, and unmounted. Open Editions are watercolour fine-art prints on heavyweight archival paper, also shipped unframed.
Are these prints hand-painted by traditional artisans?
No. AWEDICT is a fine-art studio doing modern giclée and watercolour work that draws from the visual tradition of Pata Chitra. We don't claim to commission lineage artists in Puri or elsewhere. The work is honest about its medium: high-quality digital rendering, printed on archival materials, brought to a finish that's meant to live with you for decades.
What's the difference between Limited and Open Editions?
Limited Editions are giclée fine-art prints in capped runs. Numbered, signed. Each piece comes in three sizes which are Small, Medium, and Large (exact dimensions vary by artwork and are listed on each product page) and as archival paper prints or unstretched canvas prints. When the edition is sold, it doesn't return. Prices vary per piece and size, from ₹11,499 to ₹2,12,999.
Open Editions are watercolour prints on archival paper, two sizes (12"×16", 18"×24"), unframed, printed as ordered. Always available. Same price across the catalogue: ₹4,999 (Small) and ₹9,999 (Medium).
Will Limited Editions ever be reprinted?
No. When a Limited Edition's run is sold, it closes. We don't unlock supplies, don't re-issue, don't reprint. The cap is part of the covenant.

Authenticity
Is there a certificate?
Yes. Every Limited Edition arrives with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the studio, along with a story card about the piece. Open Editions arrive with a story card; they are not numbered.
